Visual tools help teams think, communicate, and make decisions faster. A diagram can convey an idea in seconds that would take thirty minutes to explain in words. FlowEra includes a built-in diagram widget that lets you create visuals right inside your workspace.
Why Visual Tools Matter
Text is great for details but poor at conveying structure and relationships. When you need to explain a system architecture, business process, or organizational structure — a diagram does it better.
Common scenarios:
- Visualizing a business process for stakeholders.
- Database schema for the engineering team.
- Network infrastructure map for the IT department.
- Decision flowchart for new employees.
- Microservice interaction diagram.
Diagram Widget Features
The FlowEra diagram widget is a full-featured graphical editor inside your workspace.
Elements
Create nodes of various types: rectangles, diamonds (decisions), ovals (start/end), parallelograms (input/output), cylinders (data stores). Each node has a text label, background color, and customizable borders.
Connections
Connect nodes with arrows. Straight lines, orthogonal (right-angle) routes, and curves are supported. Each connection can have a text label.
Toolbar
The toolbar provides quick access to core actions: adding nodes, choosing connection type, undo/redo, zoom, alignment, and distribution of elements.
Diagram Templates
No need to start from a blank canvas. FlowEra offers templates for common diagram types:
Flowcharts
Classic flowcharts for describing processes and algorithms. Use rectangles for actions, diamonds for conditions, ovals for start and end.
BPMN
Business Process Model and Notation standard. Includes specialized elements: events, tasks, gateways, data flows. Suitable for formalizing corporate processes.
ER Diagrams
Entity-relationship diagrams for data modeling. Tables with fields, one-to-many and many-to-many relationships.
Network Maps
Network infrastructure visualization: servers, routers, network segments, connections.
Real-Time Collaboration
Multiple people can edit the same diagram simultaneously. You see colleagues' cursors and their changes in real time. This makes diagrams ideal for collaborative design.
All changes save automatically with version history. You can always revert to a previous version.
Export and Sharing
Finished diagrams can be exported as PNG or SVG for embedding in documents, presentations, and external systems.
